In Psalm 42:3, a question is asked “Where is you God?”. It is meant as a statement to bring shame on those who believe in God. Nothing has changed today, many are asked this very question by hundreds of people. When some tragic accident or natural disaster happens, those that question God's existence will use this opportunity to try and raise doubts in your mind. We as Christians cannot allow doubt to enter our minds, but instead turn to the word of God to help strengthen us. Then when confronted with this question, we can provide an answer.

First, when confronted with “Where is your God?”, answer with “He is in creation”. Genesis 1:1-2 says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” God is in creation, we can see him when we walk outside. Psalm 19:1 states, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” By looking at creation we can know that God is with us. Again in Acts 17:22-25 we see God in creation, “Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things”. Where is our God? In creation.

Second, He is in nature, consider Acts 14:15-17, “And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein: Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways. Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”, and Matt 5:45, “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” Where is our God? He is in nature.

Third, He is in our governments, look at Rom 13:1-7, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.” God Himself sets up the governments of the world, therefore He is in them. Where is our God? In our governments.

Fourth, He is in His Word. 2 Tim 3:16-17 says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” God is in His Word, the word translated as inspiration, literally means “God Breathed”. In Genesis 2:7 we find out that “God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Since the breath of God makes us alive and God breathed His Word into existence, then His Word is living and He is in it.
